Harlan Coben's shows have become a viewing event all of their own, with his most recent hit Fool Me Once breaking into the chart of Netflix's most-watched series of all time with an impressive 98,200,000 views in its first 91 days on Netflix (and lead star Michelle Keegan celebrated the milestone accordingly).

It's no surprise, then, that the streaming giant is keen to continue its relationship with the New York Times bestselling author, who has a gift for adapting his novels for the small screen. Other twisty-turny hits on the popular streaming service have included The Stranger and Stay Close – with both also trending on Netflix upon their releases – as well as Shelter, for Prime Video.

Coben shared an exciting update back in July about a different adaptation coming to Netflix, telling fans that Caught (Atrapados) will be arriving on the streaming platform in 2025.

In addition, Missing You is also on the way – and bringing together a number of familiar faces from other Coben projects. This next new Netflix series will be drawn from his book entitled Missing You, originally published in 2014.

Harlan Coben recently told Digital Spy that he thinks Missing You will be his "most gripping" series to date, also teasing that he was "completely fooled by the ending" – even though he wrote it!

The show boss also reflected on his time working with Michelle Keegan in Fool Me Once, and appeared to leave the door open for her to return in a future project.

What to Read Next

Missing You will once again see Harlan Coben working alongside Danny Brocklehurst (whose credits also include The Stranger and Fool Me Once, as well as popular Sky comedy Brassic – now also on Netflix) as well as Stay Close show writer Victoria Asare-Archer (who has also worked on BBC hit Death in Paradise).

But what else do we know about the upcoming Netflix adaptation? Here's the lowdown on Missing You, coming soon to Netflix.

Who has been cast in Harlan Coben's Missing You on Netflix?

The Harlan Coben draw is real, and there's an impressive roster of actors lined up to star in his next Netflix hit.

Richard Armitage will be back – having also starred in The Stranger, Stay Close and Fool Me Once – only this time, he'll be playing a different type of role.

"I'm playing a police sergeant, which I've never played before," Armitage told Digital Spy in an interview earlier this year. "I've never played a copper."

"I suppose in a way it's a slight reversal of what I played in Fool Me Once," he added.

We also know that Rosalind Eleazar, probably best known for her role in Slow Horses, will be leading the drama as Detective Kat Donovan.

Top Boy star Ashley Walters has also been announced to be joining the Harlan Coben project, with filming pictures from set teasing his role.

Other cast confirmed include Sir Lenny Henry (Rings of Power), Steve Pemberton (Inside No. 9) and Jessica Plummer (EastEnders).

When is Harlan Coben's Missing You coming out on Netflix?

It's too early to have a confirmed release date for the next Harlan Coben series just yet, however we have had a possible window dangled in front of us as a teaser.

During an exclusive chat with Digital Spy, Richard Armitage gave us his best guess as to when we might expect to see Missing You on Netflix.

"I think it will be in the same slot [as Fool Me Once] next year, I think it will be on January 1. At a guess!" he teased.

Obviously, nothing has been confirmed or announced at this stage, but it's fun to speculate, and it has to be said that the New Year's Day release worked wonders for the Michelle Keegan-fronted series.

What is Harlan Coben's Missing You about?

The plot summary from Netflix reads:

"Eleven years ago Detective Kat Donovan's fiancé Josh – the love of her life – disappeared, and she's never heard from him since. Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face, and her world explodes all over again.

"Josh's reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past."

With that in mind, it sounds like there's going to be plenty of Harlan Coben-style mysteries to get to the bottom of along the way – and we can't wait.

Harlan Coben's Fool Me Once, The Stranger and Stay Close are all available on Netflix. New series Missing You, Caught (Atrapados) and Run Away are coming soon.
