It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney has shared a first look at the show's upcoming crossover episode.
After months of speculation about the Abbott Elementary crossover teased by creator Quinta Brunson, it was finally revealed that the show would be colliding with fellow Philadephia-based comedy It's Always Sunny.
The special episode was confirmed by Brunson and McElhenney just a few weeks ago, and now McElhenney has given fans a first look at the beloved characters together.

Taking to Instagram, the actor posted images of the two casts on the set of Abbott Elementary.
The post, captioned "School's out y'all", first showed the It's Always Sunny gang pouting in the school hallway, with a second picture featuring the grinning Abbott Elementary staff.

The final image brought the two halves together to show McElhenney, Danny DeVito, Kaitlin Olson, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day; alongside Brunson, Janelle James, Tyler James Williams, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti and Sheryl Lee Ralph.
Fans in the comment section were delighted by the collaboration, sharing their excitement for the episode.

"Omg this is the mix I never knew I needed, until I saw this. I cannot wait for the new series," wrote one. "I can't wait to see the gang again! 2 of my favorite Philly favs coming together, this is going to be great," another added.
Meanwhile, some viewers were quick to point out the different comedic tones in the respective shows and wondered how the plots would merge together.
