Coronation Street bosses aren't concerned about the building of Manchester United's new stadium - in fact, they're actually "excited" about it. Yesterday (8 July), the football club announced the location of its new 100,000 seater stadium would be "approximately 350 metres north-west of the existing Old Trafford stadium" - a short distance away where the ITV soap is shot.

In a press release, they revealed that the location was part of a "masterplan" to drive more attention to the area, including "new and improved public transport links, enhanced rail connectivity, and extensive walking and cycling infrastructure" as part of the Trafford Regeneration Plan.

While there were concerns that the building work might disrupt filming schedules, Corrie bosses have instead expressed their excitement for the new stadium.

In a statement to The Mirror, a Corrie spokeswoman said that ITV had "consulted closely" with the Trafford Regeneration Plan, and they didn't expect too much disruption.

"As matches and events typically occur on evenings and weekends, we expect operational impact to be minimal and we will schedule filming around any 'wildcard' events, just as we do now," she said. "We welcome this regeneration and are excited to see two iconic British landmarks so close to each other."

Lisa and Carla have been beside themselves with worry ever since Betsy was found unconscious, and she underwent an MRI scan as doctors attempted to find out what's wrong before suffering a seizure.

While the circumstances are still unknown, Betsy's boyfriend Dylan was shocked to learn that Lisa believes he is somehow responsible, which spreads around the street and leads the teenager's friend, Lauren Bolton, to refuse service to Dylan and Sean at The Rovers.

As Lisa decided to report the situation as a crime, Dylan instead has attempted to turn focus to Brody as possibly having something to do with what happened.

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
