Anya Taylor-Joy's performance in Dune: Part Three has been hailed as "unbelievable" as the trilogy from Denis Villeneuve looms to a close. The latest in the Dune saga, which saw a new trailer released recently, will see the journey of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) reach its conclusion following the aftermath of his holy war.

While the third film sees cast members Timothée, Zendaya, Jason Momoa and Florence Pugh return to their roles, there's also a new addition in the form of Anya Taylor-Joy. In Dune: Part Three, she will be portraying Paul's then-unborn sister, Alia Atreides, who, in the second movie, appeared in a small, uncredited cameo.

Now, she'll have a much bigger part to play in the upcoming film, and her performance has earned her high praise from her co-star Timothée, who called her "unbelievable in this movie".

The Call Me By Your Name star described all the new cast, which includes Mickey 17's Robert Pattinson as Scytale, as being "tremendous", but had a lot of good things to say about The Menu actor.

He said: "I worked with Rob [Pattinson] before. Anya is something special in this movie, as is Rob, but maybe it was Linus [Sandgren]'s cinematography style or Denis's direction, but I think the first day Anya stepped on set, I didn't really get to work with her on the second one, just visually, it was breathtaking.

Elsewhere, Timothée described what it was like to shoot the third film, adding that it was "the most emotive [film] on a personal level" because he had "been living with this for so long".

He continued: "I'm so proud to live with it and so proud to work with Denis and his family, so I felt there was a finality in the exercise that I was kind of nostalgic about. Even though I was 29 when we shot this, I still felt like I was losing a part of me by getting through it."

And when asked what the most emotionally difficult scene to film, the Marty Supreme actor said that "anything towards the end of the film" was "just moving", adding he felt "melancholic to be moving on from this incredible family, incredible crew".

Dune: Part Three releases in cinemas on 18 December.
