Abbott Elementary creator Quinta Brunson has confirmed the show will have a crossover event in season 4.
Brunson, who also stars in the Primetime Emmy Award-winning comedy series, revealed at Comic-Con over the weekend that a history-making episode is in the works (via Entertainment Weekly).
"We will be doing an interesting crossover this season, but I’m not gonna tell you with who or what or when, but it will be exciting, and I think it will change television as we know it," she predicted.
Brunson declined to offer any further information on this crossover — though we're sure fans will have plenty of theories in the weeks and months to come.

The workplace comedy series was renewed for a fourth season shortly after its delayed third run finally premiered this past winter.

Once the renewal was announced, Brunson told Deadline: "We filmed the pilot episode in a school in West Adams [in Los Angeles]. To go from having to use these real classrooms to have multiple corners of the WB lot, it’s wild to see where we are now.
"When we shot the pilot … I turned to Sheryl Lee Ralph and said, ‘You feel that, don’t you?'. There was already a sense that we were on the precipice of something special. It speaks to how TV affects people in their lives. We couldn’t anticipate this growth even in our wildest dreams."

Abbott Elementary will be heading into its fourth season with seven Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
Brunson won the Outstanding Lead Actress Award last year and now faces some tough competition from Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), Selena Gomez (Only Murders in the Building), Maya Rudolph (Loot), Jean Smart (Hacks) and Kristen Wiig (Palm Royale).
Abbott Elementary will return on October 9, 2024, on ABC in the US. In the UK, Disney+ streams the show.
