Coronation Street's Connor-Swain family are about to face one of their biggest ever dramas, as Betsy is rushed to hospital in controversial circumstances.
The cast have been teasing this storyline in interviews for months now – and speculation is growing ahead of the emotional scenes airing next week.
As fans continue to wonder what happens to Betsy, and why her boyfriend Dylan is involved, we're recapping everything the soap has shared so far…
1. Liam McCheyne's interview
Liam McCheyne, who plays Dylan, first announced plans for his character to have a big storyline with Betsy earlier this year.
"It's going to be quite a big 2026," he told Inside Soap. "I've got a nice storyline to get my teeth stuck into, which is great.

"It'll be quite a lot of work with Sydney [Martin, who plays Betsy]. It's very coming of age. It's a subject storyline, which is obviously Corrie's speciality – it's one thing the show is amazing at. So I'm very excited for that."
2. Sydney Martin's interview
Sydney was next to speak about it a few weeks later, expressing excitement about getting her own storyline.
"Dylan and Betsy have been through a lot together," she told Inside Soap. "There's beautiful moments to come. They're polar opposites – she's this ticking time bomb that could go off at any time, and he's quite grounded and sweet.
"That can create some quite funny scenes, because there's that natural comedic element of them being so different, but also some beautiful ones. I'm also excited for Liam to get his chance to shine."
She added: "It's always been great to support my on-screen mums and family, now I get to pave my own way. I've been working hard, so I'm really excited for people to see it. It's going to be a busy summer."
3. Vicky Myers' interview
Vicky Myers, who plays Betsy's mum Lisa, confirmed her own involvement in the storyline towards the end of April.
When we asked if Lisa would be in the mix, Vicky replied: "Massively! Well, I'm saying massively because she is Betsy's mother. So if Betsy's involved, I think it's safe to say that Lisa will be somewhere looking over her shoulder!
"But what's to come is huge and I'm looking forward to getting started with it. That is extremely powerful but I can't say much about it. It is going to be brilliant.
"I'm really excited for both of them – both Liam and Sydney – because it's something that is going to be challenging for them.
"But they have the skills and talent to showcase it, so I'm excited – if that's the right word!"
4. Betsy's collapse
Official spoilers released this week confirmed that Ryan will call an ambulance after finding Betsy unconscious on the kitchen floor at No.6.
At the hospital, Betsy is taken for an MRI scan and later suffers a seizure.
5. Dylan blamed
As the difficult day continues, Dylan is shocked when he realises that Lisa believes he's responsible for what happened to Betsy.
The circumstances behind this are still unknown, but by the end of the week, he's reluctant to visit her at the hospital. Betsy's friend Lauren Bolton also has her say, refusing to serve Dylan and Sean at The Rovers once news has spread about what happened.
Lisa decides to report the situation as a crime, while Dylan tries to make out that Brody could be responsible for what's happened.
6. A new promo – and spoilers
On Wednesday evening, ITV released a new promo previewing the story. Carla is seen arriving at the hospital to find Lisa at Betsy's bedside.
Shedding a little more light, an ITV spokesperson added: "What has happened to Betsy? And why does Dylan find himself in the firing line as her condition worsens?
"All will be revealed as Lisa demands answers and accusations fly, whilst Betsy tries to come to terms with her life changing diagnosis…"
7. Praise for Sydney's performance
Further details are being kept under wraps – although there have been teasers that this is a storyline that hasn't been covered in soap before.
Meanwhile, Cait Fitton – who plays Lauren – shared one last teaser by promising some show-stopping performances from co-star and best friend Sydney.
"You guys are not ready for @sydneymartin's performance. Proud bestie," she wrote on Instagram.
Sydney replied: "Luckiest girl with the people around me."
