Wayward, the "hugely watchable" mystery thriller starring and created by Taskmaster's Mae Martin, is now finally available to stream in the UK - how quickly will you be able to binge all eight episodes?

The series takes place in the town of Tall Pines as two young women escape a facility for troubled teens, with the pair joining forces with police officer Alex Dempsey (Martin) to unearth a sinister secret.

Boasting a stacked supporting cast including Toni Collette and Sarah Gadon, the highly-anticipated series is now streaming in the UK, with all eight instalments now available on Netflix.

Following its release, Wayward has been generally well received by critics thus far, with Rotten Tomatoes currently reporting an approval rating of 75% from 24 reviews, with the consensus being that it's an entertaining addition to a well-worn genre.

You can read a selection of reviews below:

Digital Spy

"It's creepy and unnerving, but not outright scary, while the lighter oddball touches never veer into Lynchian territory. Instead, Martin's show falls somewhere in the middle, creating its own unique vibe that is worlds away from your standard Harlan Coben thrillers on Netflix."

The Guardian

"Wayward is stylish and hugely watchable - it’s hard for one’s inner adolescent to look away from a punchy eight-parter where so many comeuppances are delivered to horrible grownups."

The Hollywood Reporter

"It veers off into genre-bending oddness so immediately and, ultimately, so completely that it offers no particular solution to this crisis, which I suppose makes it even more unsettling."

The Independent

"Wayward offers something far more odd and entertaining. The concept is genuinely well executed, with characters who hold their own and enough well-timed twists to keep viewers hooked."

IndieWire

"Martin’s first stab at the genre can’t help but feel like a comedian’s interpretation — commenting from the outside looking in, rather than investing wholeheartedly. As a result, Wayward works better when seen from a remove than at the edge of your seat."

Mashable

"All this makes for a show that's very easy to binge-watch... Don't hit play on Wayward unless you're ready to surrender yourself to eight hours of this sensational series. Like the town at its centre, it's hard to walk away from."

Wayward isn't the only series to be released on Netflix this week, with Steven Knight's eagerly-awaited period drama House of Guinness also being added to the streamer on Thursday.

Wayward is streaming now on Netflix.
