Sally Lindsay and Neil Morrissey's divisive thriller Love Rat has just been added to Netflix.

The four-episode show originally aired on Channel 5 last year, but is now available on the streaming service.

It stars former Coronation Street actor Lindsay and former Waterloo Road star Morrissey as exes Emma and Pete, who have a pretty unhappy history.

Emma has seemingly found a new life and romance with Greek hotel owner Nyko, but it turns out that he's actually a scammer who exploits her vulnerability.

Reaction to the show has been mixed, with some viewers claiming that the show is pretty "implausible" with its plotting and characterisation, with a few even claiming that it's unintentionally funny due to the ropiness.

However, other viewers claim that it's a pretty light and breezy watch, something that iNews agreed with. The publication also praised Lindsay and Gerald Kyd's performances.

"Lindsay was convincing as a woman struggling with mid-life loneliness," the review reads. "As the debonair Niko, Kyd was just as persuasive – his performance combined charm with a subtle yet ever-present iffiness.

"He was never sleazy, just consistently sleaze-adjacent. You could see how his puppy-eyed millionaire routine would hypnotise someone as lost as Emma – even though he was plainly selling her a fantasy."

Lindsay has maintained a strong relationship with Channel 5 (now renamed 5) over the last few years, with season 4 of The Madame Blanc Mysteries premiering back in March.

Ahead of its return, she explained that the secret to its success was how it represented middle-aged couples who don't want kids: "You don't want to move in with each other... just want to take it easy."

Love Rat is available now on Netflix.
