Bad Thoughts, the "twisted" new series from Netflix, has divided viewers following its release on the streaming service.

The comedy sketch show from comedian Tom Segura explores a number of dark themes, consisting of six 20-minute episodes.

One sketch sees Segura star as a country musician named Rex Henley who kidnaps fans, getting them to share their deepest traumas to inspire his hit songs.

Among those to star in the show are Boardwalk Empire's Shea Whigham, Jurassic World star Daniella Pineda, and The Sopranos star Robert Iler.

Screen Rant described the new show as "twisted", saying: "Tom Segura delivers a twisted variety show of sketch comedy with increasingly absurd humor, but it doesn't manage to break the mold over its run."

Meanwhile, an unimpressed viewer had this to say: "This was absolute dog shit. Struggled to get through the first episode, won't be watching the rest."

One commenter simply said that the show was "unwatchable", while another penned: "Your stand up shows are hilarious but this new series was hard to watch and very disappointing."

"Didn’t even finish the first skit. Impressively terrible," said another disappointed viewer, while one commenter had this fair take: "You're either all in, or you completely hate it, looks like there's no in-between."
