The brilliant trailer for new psychological drama After the Hunt has been released.

The new movie features an impressive cast including Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield and Ayo Edebiri, and follows a college professor who finds herself at a crossroads after a student makes an accusation against one of her colleagues.

In the tense clip, we're introduced to Roberts' Alma Olsson, who along with fellow academics, witnesses an argument between star student Maggie Price (Edebiri) and Henrik Gibson (Garfield).

We then get a look into Alma's life, as Michael Stuhlbarg's character accuses her of preferring students who "worship" her rather than on merit, while Alma is also engaged in an affair with Henrik.

However, we then see a distressed Maggie disappear, before being found by Alma, as she accuses Henrik of 'crossing the line'. The accusation has ripple effects, with Alma torn on who to believe.

Filming on the movie took place last year, with Edebiri confirming pre-production at the time with a table read cast photo on Instagram.

Edebiri has had a busy schedule recently, with the fourth season of her hit show The Bear released a few weeks ago. She also appeared earlier this year in thriller Opus.

Guadagnino is also keeping up a busy streak, with the director releasing movies Challengers and Queer last year, while he has projects including Artificial and Find Me in the pipeline.

After the Hunt is due out in US cinemas on 17 October.
