The powerful first trailer for Maxine Peake's new Scotland-set drama I Swear has been released.
The upcoming movie tells the true story of campaigner John Davidson, who was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome as a teenager in the 1980s – a time when the condition was misunderstood.
In the emotional trailer, we see The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power star Robert Aramayo in character as John, showing his struggles with the condition – which causes people to make sudden, repetitive movements or sounds, known as tics.
He then finds a community of people who understand him, with Peake also featuring in the clip in the role of Dottie Achenbach.
The movie's synopsis adds: "Targeted as insane by his peers, Davidson lives with a condition few have ever witnessed, as he attempts to live a 'normal' life against the odds."

I Swear comes from director Kirk Jones, and also stars Bridget Jones's Diary's Shirley Henderson and Aramayo's fellow Rings of Power star Peter Mullan.
"It has been a pleasure and an honour to bring to life the story of John Davidson MBE," Jones and fellow producers Georgia Bayliff and Piers Tempest previously said in a statement, having worked with the Tourette's community on the film.
"John lived with Tourette's at a time when it was misunderstood and he has spent his life trying to make sure those diagnosed today do not have to go through what he went through.

"Robert Aramayo could not have prepared or committed any more to the role and delivers a breath-taking performance, spending months with John in Galashiels.
"The team were determined to serve the story and deliver a film that captured the humour, emotion and drama of living with Tourette's. This unique project has been a privilege to work on for all crew, cast and production."
I Swear will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on 10 October.
