Netflix's "weirdly enjoyable" and "trashy" romance drama confirms return date

My Life With the Walter Boys, Netflix's "weirdly enjoyable" and "trashy" teen drama, will return with a second season next month.

Following a two-year hiatus, a return date of Thursday, 28 August was finally confirmed by cast members at this year's Calgary Stampede.

The streamer has also treated fans to first-look photos of Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde, Ashby Gentry and Sarah Rafferty on set.

Based on Ali Novak's 2014 Wattpad novel of the same name, My Life With the Walter Boys follows Jackie Howard (Rodriguez), a 15-year-old girl mourning the sudden loss of her beloved parents and sister Lucy.

Forced to leave her home in Manhattan and move in with her mother's best friend Katherine (Sarah Rafferty), her husband George (Marc Blucas), and their 10 kids, Jackie gets way more than she bargained for after relocating to Silver Falls, Colorado.

Jackie may be laser-focused on getting out of the small town and landing a place at Princeton, but when she finds herself torn between two of the Walter brothers, Alex (Gentry) and Cole (LaLonde), things get complicated, to say the least.

Currently, details surrounding the season two storyline are being kept under wraps. However, fans will be expecting the show to address the fallout of Jackie's dramatic exit from Silver Falls.

According to Rodriguez (via Tudum), Jackie will be "trying to figure out where she belongs this season", adding: "She's definitely not trying to lose either side of herself, and trying to make sure that they could coexist."

While My Life With the Walter Boys has been given a mixed Rotten Tomatoes rating of 42% by critics, the show has been well-received by Netflix viewers.
