Netflix's new Indian romcom The Royals has broken into the top 10 in the UK.

The eight-episode series follows a royal family who try and turn their ailing financial situation around by transforming their palace into a luxury resort.

After all episodes dropped last Friday (9 May), the show is currently in eighth place on the top 10 Netflix shows in the UK.

The show currently stands at a 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics from India particularly unimpressed.

Interestingly, the American publication Decider had a much more positive response to the series.
