Calling all Legally Blonde fans, as the upcoming prequel series has just shared a first snap of teen Elle Woods.

The pink-loving Harvard Law student portrayed by Reese Witherspoon is getting the prequel treatment at Prime Video. Titled Elle, the series will focus on the iconic Noughties character during high school, with Lexi Minetree in the titular role.

A first-look image released by Witherspoon sees Minetree as teen Elle as she speaks on the phone whilst lying on her bed. Needless to say, there's an abundance of pink hues in the shot.

While Witherspoon doesn't seem to be involved in front of the camera, she's executive-producing the series via her company Hello Sunshine. Today, she announced the series has officially started production.

In all likelihood, the prequel TV show will hit the screens before the previously announced third Legally Blonde movie, as that's been delayed indefinitely.

With Witherspoon starring and producing, the threequel was being written by Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor and originally set to release in May 2022, but it was put on hold.

Elle doesn't have a release date yet. Legally Blonde and its sequel Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde are available to stream now on Prime Video.
