Netflix has opened up on the streaming giant's relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The royal couple has worked with Netflix on several programmes, including Heart of Invictus, With Love, Meghan, and Harry and Meghan.

Archewell Productions, run by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, was engaged in a multi-year deal to produce films, series, and specials for the streamer.

However, it was recently announced that there were no plans for a third season of With Love, Meghan, and Netflix withdrew as an investor in Markle's lifestyle brand As Ever.

As reported by Deadline at the streamer's Next On Netflix press event, chief content officer Bela Bajaria said that the duo still has several projects in the pipeline.

"We still have a relationship with them. We have movies in development with them. We have an amazing doc with them," she said.

"They have things in development on the TV and film side. Deals come and go all the time, and we don’t renew so many deals. Those just don’t get as much press for obvious reasons. There’s no juicy story there."

Netflix struck a deal with the couple in 2020 for an estimated $60 million, before divesting from Meghan's company, As Ever.

In December, it was reported that Archewell would produce an adaptation of The Wedding Date at Netflix, helmed by Tracy Oliver, as well as a feature adaptation of Carley Fortune's Meet Me At The Lake.

While docuseries Harry and Meghan enjoyed success among viewers, other projects such as Live To Live, Heart of Invictus, and Polo didn't fare as well.

Harry and Meghan was the most-watched premiere for a Netflix show in 2022 in the UK, and holds the record for the biggest debut for a Netflix documentary.
