Meghan Markle, the former star of Suits and Horrible Bosses, took a step back from acting as she married Prince Harry and became Duchess of Sussex, although she has featured in documentary and lifestyle projects. But now it looks like she's dipping her toes back into the world of acting.

Variety has reported that Markle will make a small cameo role in the film Close Personal Friends, from the team behind romantic comedy I Want You Back.

The plot is said to focus on two couples, one celebrity and one civilian, who meet on a trip to Santa Barbara. They become friends, but things soon become awkward when certain lines are crossed.

Emily in Paris' Lily Collins, The Boys' Jack Quaid, Captain Marvel's Brie Larson and Last Christmas' Henry Golding are the main cast members, with Saturday Night Live's Melissa Villaseñor and What We Do in the Shadows' Natasia Demetriou in supporting roles.

Filming is currently taking place in Los Angeles, with Jason Orley as director, Isaac Aptaker as writer and producer, and Elizabeth Berger as fellow producer.

Suits wrapped up in 2019, a year after Markle left the show. A few years later, it became a massive streaming hit after being added to Netflix.

Reflecting on the show's surprise post-airing success, Markle said in late 2023: "Isn't that wild? It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time.

"It's hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days. So that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting."

The huge resurgence in popularity lead to the creation of a spin-off show, Suits LA, which brought back Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter.

Unfortunately, it didn't really take off, and was axed after just one season.

Close Personal Friends does not currently have a release date, while Suits can be streamed on BBC iPlayer and Netflix in the UK.
