Million Dollar Secret, the “cunning” new Traitors-style show from Netflix, has unveiled its first trailer.
The reality show sees 12 strangers arrive at a “sumptuous lakeside estate” for a game of “wit, cunning and deception”, with each player finding a mysterious box waiting for them as they enter their rooms.
For 11 of them, the box will be empty, but one lucky contestant will possess a box containing $1 million, with the aim of the game being to keep their secret. It won’t be that easy, however, with the other players eager to snag the prize for themselves.

The trailer showcases some of the “devilish games” that the players will have to play, with the reward being clues regarding the millionaire’s identity. There is also a glimpse at the Traitors-style ceremonies, where the contents of the eliminated player’s box is revealed.
Hosted by Peter Serafinowicz, the eight-part series - which is described as “gut-wrenching” by one player - will premiere on March 26 with the release of its first three episodes, with the remaining five instalments dropping on April 2 and April 9 respectively.

As per Tudum, each episode will see Serafinowicz “task the millionaire with a secret agenda” in order to gain an advantage, whilst the rest of the players will partake in “daily guest activities” where they can win “strategic opportunities” to sniff out the millionaire.

“Over nightly dinners, they’ll try to eliminate the correct person. Each time a millionaire is booted from the game, the money moves to someone new… Should the millionaire catch too much heat, they can ditch the cash to survive another day in the competition.”
In addition to The Traitors, Million Dollar Secret also bears a passing resemblance to ITV’s The Fortune Hotel, with the Netflix show promising a “cutthroat competition of high-stakes strategy” where “alliances can switch in the blink of an eye”.
Million Dollar Secret premieres on Netflix on March 26.
