With the FIFA World Cup, Wimbledon, and a jam-packed weekend of sporting events dominating TV schedules, the next few days will be another busy time for live sport. From Saturday (4 July), viewers can also follow the British Grand Prix, the Tour de France and the opening weekend of the Nations Championship, leaving much of the broadcast schedule devoted to major sporting events.

Fortunately, there's no shortage of fresh entertainment elsewhere. Netflix, Prime Video and Apple TV+ have all added highly-anticipated releases over the past week, including returning favourites and brand-new dramas.

Survival of the Thickest, season 3 (Netflix)

Michelle Buteau returns as stylist Mavis Beaumont for the third and final season of Netflix's comedy-drama, which is inspired by Buteau's collection of essays of the same name.

The new episodes continue Mavis' journey as she juggles her growing fashion career, complicated relationships and the ups and downs of living in New York, more particularly Brooklyn, where the show is mainly set.

Since debuting in 2023, the series has built a loyal following due to its storytelling blending humour and heartfelt moments. But with this season marking the final chapter of Mavis' story, viewers will perhaps need tissues at the ready ahead of an emotional farewell.

Rebecca Ferguson is back as Juliette Nichols in the long-awaited third season of dystopian thriller Silo, based on Hugh Howey's bestselling novels.

Picking up after the dramatic events of season two, the latest episodes continue Juliette's fight to uncover the truth about the silos while introducing an entirely new storyline occurring centuries before the main timeline.

Apple has already confirmed that Silo will conclude with a fourth season, meaning the new run begins answering some of the series' biggest mysteries while laying the groundwork for its endgame.

Millie Bobby Brown reprises her role as the young detective in the third instalment of Netflix's successful mystery franchise. This time, Enola sees her wedding day completely derailed as she travels to Malta to solve a huge new case.

But she's quickly drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that could have deadly consequences. Meanwhile, Henry Cavill returns as her brother, Sherlock Holmes, alongside Louis Partridge as Lord Tewkesbury, Himesh Patel as Dr Watson and Helena Bonham Carter as Enola's mother.

Elle (Prime Video)

Before Elle Woods conquered Harvard Law School, she was simply a high-school student trying to figure out who she wanted to be. That's the premise behind Elle, Prime Video's new prequel series inspired by the Legally Blonde films.

The series follows a teenage Elle as she navigates friendships, family life and first love, revealing the experiences that shaped the confident and optimistic character made famous by Reese Witherspoon.

Prime Video has already renewed the show for a second season ahead of its debut, with the new episodes expected to drop in 2027.

Project Hail Mary (Prime Video)

Ryan Gosling leads the cast of Project Hail Mary, the film adaptation of Andy Weir's bestselling science-fiction novel.

In this film, Gosling plays science teacher Ryland Grace, who wakes up alone aboard a spacecraft with no memory of how he got there, only to discover he's humanity's last hope of preventing extinction-level catastrophe.

Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the sci-fi adventure earned strong reviews during its theatrical release and is now making its streaming debut on Prime Video, making it the ideal choice to anyone looking for a blockbuster to enjoy over the weekend.
