ITV has quietly axed the video podcast series Off Script, a companion show to both Coronation Street and Emmerdale, which aired its last episode over a year ago.

Presented by Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz, the show dug into the biggest storylines from both ITV soaps, brought on actors from said episodes, and teased what was around the corner for viewers.

The show ran in audio and video podcast forms for 12 episodes, with the last one releasing on 30 May, 2025, which featured Amy Walsh talking about Emmerdale's body in the lake storyline.

In the last episode, Kelvin and Liz signed off by saying that they would next see fans at the British Soap Awards, without mentioning any further instalments of Off Script.

ITV hasn't said anything about the show publicly since then, but The Sun has reported that it has indeed been axed and won't be coming back.

The report comes as it's been confirmed that Sky is to buy ITV as part of a £1.6 billion takeover deal, which might have fans worried about what's going to happen to Corrie and Emmerdale in the future.

However, ITV has confirmed that its biggest shows, including the soaps, won't be locked behind a streaming paywall or TV subscription package.

An official statement reads: "ITV's channels and ITVX will remain free-to-air, with all public service broadcasting commitments continuing in full, including regional news and programming.

"Viewers will continue to enjoy the shows they know and love, such as Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Love Island, I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, This Morning, Loose Women, Lorraine and News at Ten – alongside major live sporting events."

Coronation Street and Emmerdale air on ITV1, and stream on ITVX and YouTube.
