Unforgotten star Victoria Hamilton has joined the all-new cast for the third season of a returning British series.
The actor, who played Juliet Cooper in the sixth season of the ITV crime drama, has been confirmed as the lead in the upcoming instalment of The Teacher, the popular anthology series from 5.
The drama will see Hamilton portray Helen, a drama teacher at a "reputable" private school who is "struggling" to adjust to "modern social expectations". "Stumbling" over a student's correct pronouns, Helen is then challenged over their syllabus by an "outspoken" pupil.
"A difference of opinion rapidly turns into a sinister grudge match and after a tragic event on school grounds, the situation intensifies when a video emerges suggesting Helen is to blame and she finds herself being blackmailed," reads the official synopsis.
Further casting details will be announced in due course, with a release date also currently unconfirmed. Given the previous two seasons aired in 2022 and 2024 respectively, we can guess that the third season will premiere in 2026.

A follow-up season followed art teacher Dani Oxley (Kara Tointon), who embarks on an affair with a colleague on a school trip. After a student goes missing, Dani finds herself in a quandary as she risks both her marriage and career.

While Hamilton will soon be seen in the third instalment of The Teacher, Unforgotten had its future confirmed earlier this year, with ITV renewing the crime drama for a seventh season back in February.
