Departure, the action-packed series full of twists and turns, has added new episodes to Netflix.

The Canadian series follows Kendra Malley (Archie Panjabi) in their job at the Transport Safety and Investigations Bureau (TSIB), an agency which covers crime scenes involving major passenger and freight carriers.

With the first two seasons – which focus on a plane crash and a high-speed train derailment – already being available on Netflix, the streamer has now added all six episodes from the third season, which premiered in 2023.

"A ship carrying 300+ sinks and the survivors – if any – must be found," reads the logline. "But something more sinister lurks under the waters – something bigger than just a ship accident. Will the team responsible for rescuing passengers stay afloat in their mission, or drown among the dangerous games at play?"

Co-starring Mark Rendall, Kris Holden-Ried and the late Christopher Plummer, Departure has received generally positive reviews throughout its run, with the first season currently possessing an approval rating of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes from 10 reviews.

"A drama that will hook those who seek from their viewing a charge of adrenaline, if not always the most rigorously challenging of mysteries," wrote Variety, while The Globe and Mail said that the "action, twists and propulsive pace" made for a "great pulpy distraction".

The third season doesn't have a score on the site, though The Australian did praise Panjabi's ability to "anchor" the series and Rendell's "droll" performance as "nerdish" investigator Theo Barker.

The series has also garnered generally positive reviews from general audiences across its three seasons, with the show currently having an average rating of 6.9 out of 10 on IMDb from over 20,000 reviews.

"It's just an entertaining crime thriller with some twists and turns. Doesn't matter about cliches. Not looking for an Emmy here, just a storyline that keeps my attention. Mission accomplished," wrote one user.

"A bit formulaic, but a rather good cast of actors, and twisting storyline… It's worth a watch, it you enjoy thrillers and conspiracy story lines," wrote one other user, with another praising the "jigsaw-puzzle" narrative as well as the "stellar" performances.

Departure seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix.
