Netflix has just added an Australian murder mystery series, which you'll want to binge-watch right away.
Created by Tony Ayres, The Survivors follows a man named Kieran Elliott, whose life was forever changed after a storm killed three people in his hometown of Evelyn Bay.
When Kieran returns to the coastal town after years away, his life is changed again when the mysterious murder of a woman throws the town into chaos.
The synopsis reads: "Fifteen years ago, the loss of three young people tore this sleepy seaside town apart. Now, the mysterious death of a young woman dredges up the past."
Based on the novel of the same name by Jane Harper, the six-episode series is now available to stream on Netflix worldwide after being added today.

Judging from the reviews, it sounds like one to watch, with The Guardian describing The Survivors as "a murder mystery so intense you’ll watch through your fingers".

Digital Mafia Talkies had this to say: "I don’t know if The Survivors, Secrets We Keep, or Adolescence will have any real-world impact, but I do want more shows like this (...) Maybe if enough storytellers proclaim that the kids and their parents are not alright, we can hope to see some change."
"Netflix's The Survivors is an arresting mystery-drama series that will leave you on edge and rooting for the victims throughout," penned Leisure Byte.
The Survivors is streaming on Netflix.
