Netflix's new crime drama Dept. Q has landed a release date and unveiled a first look at its cast.
Based on the novels of the same name by Danish author Jussi Adler-Olsen, the upcoming series stars Downton Abbey's Matthew Goode as DCI Carl Morck, who, still reeling from a traumatic incident, returns to work and is assigned to lead a new cold case unit known as Department Q.
"At first, the disillusioned cop is happy to waste his days away, but his detective instincts are ultimately reawakened and his new department becomes a magnet for a crew of misfits and mavericks," the official synopsis adds.
Netflix has now confirmed that the nine-part series will premiere on 25 May - so fans don't have too long to wait.
The streamer has also released a set of first-look photos from the series, featuring Goode in action as the lead detective alongside his co-stars.

Teasing more about the show during an interview with Tudum, Goode shared: "When we join the story, a 16-year-old case up in Aberdeen has been solved.
"The optics of that look really good, because right now they’re lacking finance and crime figures are going up.
"So Kate Dickie’s character — the boss of the police force — her higher-ups say, 'Let’s form a cold case unit'. She puts Carl in charge because she can keep an eye on him in the basement."
