The TV adaptation of Guy Ritchie's 2000 gangster movie Snatch is now trending on Netflix.

Released in 2017, Snatch follows a group of young hustlers who stumble on a truckload of stolen gold bullion and quickly find themselves in the high-stakes world of organised crime.

Among them are Skins actor Luke Pasqualino, Harry Potter's Rupert Grint and Emily in Paris star Lucien Laviscount.

The series was added to Netflix last week and has been trending in the UK's Top 10 ever since.

Despite being a hit with viewers on the streaming platform, Snatch earned largely negative reviews from critics at the time of its release and currently holds a 'rotten' score of 39% on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes from 18 reviews.

Yahoo said the series is "tiresome in its constant attempts to dazzle the viewer", while IGN described the writing as "lacklustre".

"The fact that Snatch isn't even particularly interested in the criminal mind is what ultimately sinks the whole enterprise," Collider's review reads.

The reviews aren't all bad, however, with Variety describing it as "punchy" and "adventurous".

"The new series, based on Guy Ritchie's 2000 movie, is a whole lot of fun, a stylish heist story with an irreverent sense of humour," the Boston Globe wrote.

Snatch's star-studded cast also includes The Crow Girl's Dougray Scott, Hustle's Marc Warren, Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor and Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick.

Meanwhile, the TV adaptation of Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen was officially renewed for a second season last year, with Theo James and Kaya Scodelario set to return as Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass, respectively. Filming is scheduled to take place this year.

Snatch is available to stream now on Netflix.
