Hollyoaks has confirmed that Jamie Lomas will reprise his role as Warren Fox for a special flashback episode.
Back in September, the Channel 4 soap jumped forward a year in time, as it was cut down from five episodes a week to just three.
There were lots of shocks as viewers were reintroduced to the characters 12 months down the line, but some details about the lost year were kept under wraps and have been revealed gradually.

But this spring, Hollyoaks will return to this missing year, with a flashback episode about Mercedes, Joel and Leela – focusing on Mercedes' bowel cancer diagnosis and Joel's relapse.

It has been confirmed that Warren will play a role in this special episode, and while the details of his involvement have been kept under wraps, a new image released shows Warren with his son Joel, suggesting that the pair reunited during the missing year.
Before the time jump, the walls closed in on an injured Warren, after he had a tense showdown with vigilante Blue, who turned out to be Dave Williams.

After believing that he had killed Dave in the woods, Warren was left with no choice but to leave Mercedes and their twins to go on the run with a bag full of cash from Fraser's fortune.
It turned out that Dave wasn't dead, but it wasn't long before he was shot dead by Robbie, who had found a note from Cindy revealing that he was Blue.
In a statement, Jamie teased that there could be some big surprises for viewers in his upcoming appearance.

He said: "There's a lot the fans don't know about the missing year and I'm excited to be a part of the special episode. I always love coming back home to Hollyoaks."
In the present day, there are some difficult times ahead for Joel and Leela, when Leela gets suspicious about Joel's relationship with his ex Cleo.

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
