Hollyoaks has announced a mysterious new character who will be involved in a shocking story alongside Leela Dexter next week.
Actor Brandon Fellows (The Stranger) has joined the cast as resident therapist Tommy, with his first appearance on the show airing on Tuesday, March 11.
Leela has been through a harrowing ordeal as she was raped by her brother-in-law Abe and was scared that he was the father of her baby Clara. But thankfully, it was confirmed that Joel is the father, and the couple looked forward to a brighter future.

In scenes that will air next week, the soap will revisit Joel’s relationship with his ex, Cleo. Cleo spots Mercedes arriving for chemotherapy treatment with prison guards, and she tells her cousin to stay away from her.

Cleo has a panic attack in response, and she is comforted by Joel. Meanwhile, Leela suspects Joel is hiding something after he doesn’t turn up for work.
Leela spots her husband with Cleo and confronts him, suggesting that he is only still with her because Clara was confirmed to be his daughter.

As Cleo encourages Joel to focus on his marriage, Leela makes plans to meet up with someone, and it is revealed that she has been seeing therapist Tommy.
In their session, Leela explains her concerns about Joel and Cleo, and Tommy consoles her. But in a shocking twist, he misreads the signals and leans in for a kiss.
Later, Joel wants to make amends with Leela and surprises her with a dinner. But will this work, and will Leela tell him about Tommy?

In upcoming scenes, it will be revealed that Leela isn’t the only person having therapy from Tommy. But it also soon becomes clear that Tommy might not be who he says he is. What is he hiding?
Ahead of his first episode, Fellows spoke about his new role in a statement, saying: "I’m excited to be joining the cast of Hollyoaks, playing the role of Tommy.
"A friendly and unique therapist with a dark side and a complicated family history. I’m looking forward to the fans seeing this character’s secrets unravel…"
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
