John Sugden will make a huge discovery regarding Robert on Emmerdale as he continues to evade justice.
The villainous doctor has been running amok in the Dales over the past few months, though the villagers have been blissfully unaware of his crimes as he continued to pull the wool over their eyes.
In a bid to cover his tracks regarding the killing of Nate Robinson, John first pinned the blame on Tracy, but recently framed Owen Michaels for the crime as he left a fake confession by his lifeless body during Monday's (21 July) episode.
Robert, however, will become suspicious of his half-brother, with the rest of this week's scenes seeing the recently-returned character begin to investigate matters as he doubts that John is telling the truth.

This scepticism will continue into next week, where Robert will be told various stories about how John has been a guardian angel for the community. Fed up with the slew of glowing character references, Robert expresses his belief that John is too good to be true.
Following a discussion with Chas, who thinks he's talking nonsense, Robert spots an opportunity to do some digging as John leaves his phone unattended. Before he can gain access, John returns and is worried by Robert's prying.

John later voices his concerns about his half-brother to Chas, though she just thinks that Robert is filled with jealousy. Victoria is also concerned about Robert's wellbeing, and urges him to get some help, though he ultimately refuses.
She goes to John instead, with the villain sensing an opportunity as he agrees to ask Liam if he'll check in on Robert. Instead, he sneaks into their house and plants a listening device, where he discovers that Robert is harbouring a secret of his own – what could it be?
