EastEnders is wrapping up its Secrets from the Square mini-series next week with a handful of episodes, one of which includes fan-favourite Shona McGarty talking about some of Whitney Dean's most iconic moments.
She's been involved a lot of stories across her time on the soap, mostly involving getting with men that she shouldn't be getting with, but with the break in filming, she's had time to think about where she would like to go with her character in the future.

"I'd like (Whitney) to be comfortable and happy – I know that's a big ask," she laughed. "Maybe get some help with her issues. Maybe find someone nice who is a bit of a cheeky chappy, a bit of a laugh.
"And I really want her to have kids, I always wanted her to have babies."
What do you think of the idea of Whitney having kids? We are all for it, as long as it's not Mick's secret love child – let's not go there again.

Shona also revealed she is actually enjoying how the filming has changed due to the new restrictions that are in place, stating: "Each scene takes a lot longer now because there's only so much we can do, but I like the slow process.

"It gives you a chance to really get into character and you get more than one take to do it. I'm really enjoying the slower pace!"
Elsewhere, asked about her favourite storyline, Shona said: "The one I did recently about the hunger strike in prison. For me as an actress it was such a challenge but it was a challenge that I really enjoyed and I would do it again in a heartbeat."
EastEnders will return for brand new episodes in September.
