Erling Haaland has called Harry Kane "one of the best" players in the world. The star praised his fellow striker ahead of his side Norway's face-off against England in the World Cup quarter-finals this weekend.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Haaland said Kane was "an amazing player", elaborating: "He’s been one of the best, if not the best in the world this season.

"How he’s been performing in Germany and the way he's been also performing in the Champions League, so he’s been amazing and he's an amazing player."

He added: "So we have to try to stop him, it won't be easy and we have to do our best, because it's not going to be easy against a good player like that."

England is due to play Norway tomorrow, with the two teams competing for a place in the semi-finals.

It comes after England's dramatic win against Mexico in the early hours of Monday morning, which saw the team beat the co-host nation 3-2 at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City thanks to goals from Jude Bellingham and Kane.

Before that, England played DR Congo, which brought in the BBC's biggest live audience of 2026 so far. The match peaked at 16.3 million, with an average of 14 million viewers as well as 10.4 million streams across BBC iPlayer, and the BBC Sport website and app.

On top of that, World Cup coverage accounted for over a third of hours streamed on BBC iPlayer in the last week of the group stage.
