Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Fiz Dobbs was reminded exactly why she never lets her guard down around daughter Hope during this Wednesday's (8 July) Coronation Street, as the ITV soap revisited one of the teen's most explosive storylines yet.
Hope (Isabella Flanagan) has become one of Weatherfield's most unpredictable residents thanks to her long history of finding — and causing — trouble. So when Fiz walked into No.9 and caught Hope hurriedly slamming her laptop shut during a secretive conversation with Ruby, she immediately feared the worst.

"It’s just a secret," Hope assured her. "Not all secrets are bad."
Ruby nearly let the surprise slip by revealing they were "planning something really nice", before Hope quickly silenced her.
What to Read Next
Although Hope insisted there was nothing to worry about and promised everything would soon be revealed, Fiz couldn't shake the feeling her daughters were hiding something dangerous. "It wouldn’t be the first time, would it?" she later told Tyrone. "Do you know what I still have nightmares about? Her driving that digger into Phil’s car."
The line referenced one of Hope's most memorable storylines from 2022, when Fiz was in relationship with Phill Whittaker following her split from Tyrone, caused by his affair with Alina Pop.
Heartbroken, Fiz eventually found happiness with Phill and the pair made plans to move in a new home together before getting married. But Hope stumbled across Phill's laptop and uncovered his plans to write a book about her father, serial killer John Stape.
True to her impulsive nature, Hope took matters into her own hands. Outraged by the discovery, Hope climbed into an unattended mini digger outside the property and repeatedly rammed it into Phill's car, smashing the windscreen.
Her outburst ultimately exposed Phill's true colours, allowing Fiz to discover the truth and paving the way for her reunion with Tyrone.

Phill briefly managed to win Fiz back over by insisting he had abandoned the book project. However, she ultimately jilted him at the altar in favour of Tyrone. Months later, Fiz discovered Phill had gone ahead with the book after all, although he has since left Weatherfield.
This time, however, Hope and Ruby's secret appears far less destructive — although it could have long-lasting ramifications for Tyrone. The sisters have secretly been trying to track down Tyrone's biological father, keeping every development under wraps as they searched for answers.
Now, the man they've been looking for appears headed to Weatherfield, with Cassie Plummer becoming the first person on the cobbles to cross paths with him.

Cassie (who is due for an explosive soap exit this summer) has been hoping to move her relationship with Steve McDonald forward since his split from Tracy, but her confidence took a knock when she saw him helping Tracy with a delivery at Preston's Petals after her failed proposal.
Disappointed, Cassie drowned her sorrows at the Chariot Square Hotel, where she struck up a conversation with a man at the bar. When she suggested continuing the evening with a nightcap, he brutally declined before leaving.
But after glancing at the receipt he had signed, Cassie was stunned to see the name Ross Wilkes.
The revelation strongly suggests that Tyrone's long-lost father is finally on his way to Weatherfield, meaning Hope and Ruby's scheme could take centre stage in upcoming scenes.
Coronation Street continues Friday (10 July) from 9pm on ITV.
