Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has weighed in on his future in the soap as the Platt family has seen some key members leave the cobbles.
Shepherd, who has been playing the role of David Platt for 25 years, reflected on his character's new storylines as his mum Gail and son Max have recently said goodbye to Weatherfield.
David has had a dramatic start to the new year, going as far as ordering a hit on his own life to find the money to repay Harvey Gaskell.
Speaking with Digital Spy and other media, Shepherd has teased an "unpredictable" David, saying: "I mean, I don't like particularly doing the stories where the audience can second guess what exactly is going to happen. I don't like that. I don't like telling them anything."

He continued: "There's loads of times in the script where we feel as though we have to spoon-feed the audience. And I'm like, 'No, don't.'"

The actor will be celebrating his 25th Corrie anniversary this year, looking back on when he first started out on the soap.
"I was only in the show three months originally, and then they just kept on sort of ringing my mum up, and my agent saying, 'Yeah, we'll extend it.' So, yeah, 25 years is a long time, I think, for anyone. But I get year contracts now, I don't get three-months ones," he said.

"So, I'm only ever here for like, another year, so. It runs out this year, so they might not continue it! They might go with someone else, but I'm still enjoying it."
While he now thinks "a contract at a time", the soap star wouldn't mind if he stayed on Corrie another 25 years.
"As long as I'm still happy, that's all that matters, doesn't it?"
