Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Paul Foreman is set to come under suspicion for Kel Hinchley's death next week.

Last week, Corrie viewers saw Billy Mayhew make a worrying discovery when he learned that a body found in the canal belonged to a dead man in his 50s wearing "a security uniform", sparking concerns the body could belong to Paul Foreman's (Peter Ash) abuser Kel.

Next week, Mary and Billy call at the police station to find out whether or not the body was definitely Kel. Later, when Billy tells Paul that a body was found in a canal and it could be Kel's, Paul is distraught and quickly leaves.

Things only get worse later on when a police officer calls around and confirms that the body was indeed that of Kel and begins to ask Paul a series of questions. Paul soon sparks suspicion when he remarks that he's not surprised that Kel was murdered, and the police officer points out that he never said how Kel had died.

Later, Billy asks Paul what makes him think that Kel had been killed, and when Billy asks if Paul had anything to do with what happened, Paul becomes angry and defensive.

Craig later drops by the flower shop flat and confirms that Kel's death was accidental and that they're not looking for anyone in connection with the incident.

When he sees how relieved Billy is by the news, however, Paul realises that Billy seriously believed that he'd murdered Kel.

With previous soap rumours suggesting that Paul and Billy's relationship will face trouble ahead, will the couple be able to move on from this?

Coronation Street currently airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV, and will return to six episodes a week from Monday (September 14).
