An action thriller dubbed a "mess" by viewers is now trending in the UK.
Tin Soldier, starring Scott Eastwood and Jamie Foxx, is currently the sixth most-watched film on Amazon Prime Video, despite garnering a lukewarm reaction at the time of its release.
Directed by Brad Furman, the film follows The Bokushi (Foxx), a cult leader who has amassed a legion of military-trained followers after promising protection and purpose to hundreds of veterans.
The synopsis continues: "After several failed infiltration attempts, the government – in the form of military operative Emmanuel Ashburn (Robert De Niro) – recruits Nash Cavanaugh (Eastwood), an ex-special forces asset, who was once a disciple of The Bokushi.
"Nash agrees to use his vulnerable past and insider knowledge of the enigmatic leader to finally get revenge on the man who took everything from him, including the love of his life."

Despite its newfound popularity on Prime, Tin Soldier scored a lowly 3.3 rating out of 10 on IMDB, being branded a "mess" and a "waste of top talent."
"Movie was and is a mess. I and others will better enjoy observing ants in their natural or artificial habit," one user wrote.
Another added: "This film is a horrible attempt at dealing with a sensitive subject like ptsd but mixed with a silly Jones cult story that is lost in translation and unfortunately does a hatchet job in both execution and editing that it ends up turning into a tossed messed up salad that makes one wonder if the writer and director [also] suffered also from ptsd.

The review continued: "What a sad waste of top talent of DeNiro whose lame character is not justified and Scott Eastwood (who seems to have a knack for picking lemons - even though he tries his best in this silly film), and the funniest best razzie of the year award is Jamie Foxx - starring as a cross of Carrot Head meets 70s Shaft with the worst hair wig ever."
It was called "dire" and "incomprehensible garbage" by users, and it didn't fare much better in critics' reviews.
Radio Times said: "Troubled military man Scott Eastwood joins a covert unit breaking into a cult compound housing hundreds of traumatised veterans, in an action movie that frustrates far more than it entertains."
Meanwhile, Ready Steady Cut added: "I have no idea what Tin Soldier is, where it came from, how it was released, or who thought it’d be a good idea."
Tin Soldier is streaming now on Prime Video.
