If you'd rather watch a big-budget sci-fi adventure rather than live sport such as the FIFA World Cup or Wimbledon, then you may be in luck as one UK streamer has added one of the year's most acclaimed films.
Project Hail Mary is based on Andy Weir's 2021 novel of the same name, and follows science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) as he wakes up on a spaceship with little memory as to how he got there.
Over time, he begins to remember that Earth was in a perilous position due to ongoing damage to the Sun, and that he was sent on a mission to save all of humanity. Along the way, he meets an adorable alien friend he calls 'Rocky'.

What did critics say about Project Hail Mary?
Project Hail Mary was acclaimed by critics upon its theatrical release in March, with Rotten Tomatoes currently reporting an impressive approval rating of 94% from 416 reviews. Furthermore, the audience score is a near-perfect 95%.
Josh Gad, best known for his role as Olaf in the Frozen franchise, dubbed it the "first masterpiece of 2026", calling it a "perfect adaptation of a book" that he "thought was impossible to adapt".

After a lengthy theatrical release, the film, which is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, is now available to stream on Prime Video. It previously had an exclusive period on MGM+, but is now on a major service.
