If you have been enjoying Project Hail Mary since its release on Prime Video last week, then you're in luck, as there's a surprise new spin-off to coincide with the acclaimed film's premiere on the streamer.

It's even better if you happen to be fond of adorable sidekick Rocky (frankly, who doesn't love him?), as Ryland Grace's (Ryan Gosling) loveable alien friend is at the centre of this feature.

The soundtrack album, which was composed by Daniel Pemberton, is now available to stream on Prime Video. It's not just any album, however, as you can watch a video of Rocky sleeping (for the most part, as he actually wakes up at the end).

This isn't technically a new release, as the 'Watch Rocky Sleep' video has been on YouTube for the past three months. Still, it's a nice way to pass the time if you're doing odd jobs around the house.

If you've seen the film, which is based on Andy Weir's 2021 novel of the same name, then you'll know that music plays a big role, with Sandra Hüller's Eva Stratt having a notable moment as she sings Harry Styles's 'Sign of the Times' on karaoke.

What to Read Next

There was also due to be a similar moment between Ryland and Rocky, but this was sadly cut from the final edit. We do have details of it, however, as Gosling shared information during an exclusive interview with Digital Spy.

"We did a bunch that didn't make the movie, there's a little bit of it. We did 'tomato tomato' ['Let's Call the Whole Thing Off'] which was fun because his voice computer would always put the emphasis on the wrong syllable," recalled the actor.

"So when we're fighting in a song about what the syllable was, you can just imagine how charming it was. It was fun, but it didn't make the cut. We did a bunch of other songs too. We might have done 'Ice Ice Baby'."

Gosling also praised the creative team for prioritising practical effects and puppetry when it came to Rocky, who was voiced by James Ortiz. The actor said it was a "gift" to be on the set, and said they aimed to match the "bar" that was achieved by Weir with the novel.

Project Hail Mary is streaming now on Prime Video.
