Jamie Foxx is coming back to our screens in new drama The Burial, and it sounds like a movie you'll need to add to your watchlist.

Following its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival, The Burial has debuted with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from its first reviews (as of September 14) ahead of its Prime Video debut on October 13.

The movie joins fellow Toronto premieres Unicorns, American Fiction, Nyad and His Three Daughters on the coveted 100% rating. It's possible that the rating could dip in coming weeks, but it's still a strong start for The Burial.

IndieWire

"Likely the most rousing crowdpleaser ever made about the legal battle for a burial insurance business, Maggie Betts' The Burial is the kind of fun but impassioned courtroom drama Hollywood used to release on a regular basis."

Variety

"Director Maggie Betts has a rousing old-school crowd-pleaser on her hands with this truth-based (albeit strategically embellished) drama featuring the most entertaining performance yet from Jamie Foxx, who makes a day in court feel like going to church."

The Hollywood Reporter

"Betts tries her hand at comedy with a feel-good tone that has the energy of a 90s-era courtroom drama full of big personalities, emotional monologues and cathartic, crowd-pleasing jokes. Nearly everyone in the cast is trying to get a laugh at one point or another, and the success rate is high."
