The Bank Job, the "immensely satisfying" British heist thriller starring Jason Statham and Daniel Mays, is leaving Netflix next month.

The 2008 film sees Statham portray Terry Leather, a reformed criminal who settles down into pedestrian life as a car dealer. As his business begins to struggle, an ex-girlfriend returns to entice him back into the criminal world with details of a lucrative bank heist.

"After Terry assembles his crew of misfits and begins the operation, he finds that there are other agendas at play, and powerful players who have designs on the vault's contents," reads the logline.

Co-starring Mays as Dave Shilling and Keeley Hawes as Statham's on-screen wife, the heist thriller is currently available to stream on Netflix in the UK and Ireland, but viewers will have to act fast as it's due to leave the streamer on 14 August.

If you need any more convincing to give The Bank Job a try, then look no further than its positive critical reception, with the film currently having an approval rating of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes from 142 reviews.

"Well cast and crisply directed, The Bank Job is a thoroughly entertaining British heist thriller," noted the site's critical consensus, while The Seattle Times called it "immensely satisfying" due to its blend of "humour", "suspense" and "interesting characters".

"The Bank Job engages us fully with a tale that's well-fashioned more than anything else, a fascinating study of morality at several levels of English society, and of honour, or the lack of it, among implausibly likable thieves," wrote The Wall Street Journal.

The New Yorker was full of praise as they dubbed it a "straightforward" and "tight-knit" thriller, while Austin Chronicle noted: "Where The Bank Job really thrives is in its depiction of the cold, hard realities of a life spent dipping your hands in other people's pockets."

The film isn't the only project involving Mays that is currently available on Netflix, with Channel 4 series Red Riding being added to the streamer last week. The period crime drama, which consists of three feature-length episodes, boasts a stacked British cast.

The Bank Job is on Netflix until 14 August.
