Disney has paused the development of an upcoming live-action remake after Snow White disappointed at the box office.
The remake of the 1937 animated classic has made approximately $150 million at the worldwide box office at the time of writing, against a reported budget that goes up to $270 million.
Reviews for the film also haven't been very positive, including ours, landing Snow White with a current 40% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Now The Hollywood Reporter has stated that the live-action remake of Tangled, which was only announced back in December 2024, is on pause.
That doesn't mean the film is cancelled, but Disney are taking the time to look its options, including a potential creative retooling.
When the live-action Tangled was announced, The Greatest Showman and Better Man helmer Michael Gracey was set to direct, with Thor: Love and Thunder co-writer Jennifer Kaityn Robinson handling the script.
