Disney has announced another live-action remake of one of its beloved animated films.
This time around, it's 2010's Tangled, which tells the story of Rapunzel. Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Hercules) was on music duty, while Mandy Moore (This Is Us) and Zachary Levi (Shazam!) voiced the main characters.
Deadline reports that The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey is in negotiations to helm the project. Thor: Love and Thunder writer Jennifer Kaytin Robinson has penned the latest draft of the script.

Tangled was a huge success, making nearly $1 billion at the worldwide box office. Despite that, it never received a big-screen sequel movie, instead getting a short film, a TV movie, and a TV series.
Disney is currently filming a live-action remake of Moana, which itself has a big-screen sequel that is doing big numbers at the box office.

Dwayne Johnson recently spoke about the leaked photos of him on set as Maui, stating that he was happy people thought he had bulked up for the role and were excited for the film.
"That's a suit that took a long time to put on. So, I'm so happy you said, 'You bulked up,' because when you say, 'You bulked up,' that means you couldn't tell," he said.

Meanwhile, Gracey is currently busy as well, with his Robbie Williams biopic Better Man (the one where the 'Rudebox' singer is a chimpanzee).
He's also set to direct an adaptation of the children's book Nevermoor as well as a film about the life of Luciano Pavarotti.
Better Man is set to be released in the UK on December 26, and a day earlier in select cinemas in the US. Moana 2 is out in cinemas now, while the live-action Tangled does not currently have a release window.
