Apple TV+ has revealed a first look at Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore in the upcoming crime thriller Echo Valley.

Premiering on the streaming service on June 13, the new film sees Moore star as Kate, a woman who spends her time training horses at an isolated Pennsylvania farm following the loss of her partner.

When Kate's troubled daughter Claire, played by Sweeney, turns up on the doorstep covered in someone else's blood, Kate is forced to decide how far she will go to protect her child and the life she's built for herself.

After returning home, Claire, who is addicted to drugs, brings with her a host of troubled characters including a local criminal played by Domnhall Gleeson and Claire's boyfriend (Edmund Donovan).

Directed by Michael Pearce, Echo Valley sees Mare of Easttown's Brad Ingelsby take on scriptwriting duties.

In the first-look images, a bedraggled Claire, who appears to be soaking wet, can be seen standing in a hallway. Another of the images shows Claire being embraced in bed by her mother Kate.

Opening up about the film in an interview with Vanity Fair, Moore said: "These are my favorite kinds of movies: movies about relationships. What will people do for one another? What kind of decisions do you make? How far will you go?"

On playing an addict, Sweeney said she drew inspiration from her own life experiences, saying: "I’ve had a lot of family members deal with addiction and then struggle with similar issues as Claire and her friends, and her group that she hangs out with. I’ve kind of had first-hand experience with it."

Revealing how she prepared for the role, the Euphoria star said she watched videos of addicts being interviewed on YouTube.

"I mean, there’s a manipulation underneath a lot of it," she said. "But when there was love in the air in the room, you truly still felt it. The person that they are at the core, as buried as they might be, is still there."

Echo Valley arrives on Apple TV+ on June 13.
