If you've been tuning in to the TV over the past few weeks, then you'll know just how much live sport is happening; not only do we have the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but Wimbledon and the British Grand Prix are occurring this weekend too!
Luckily, we know that not everybody is too fond of watching that, and would instead gorge on some bingeworthy television to pass the time. Thankfully, there are plenty of new series being released this week.
Ranging from a reboot of an iconic period drama to the return of a beloved reality series, there are plenty of options to choose from. Rather handily (if we do say so ourselves), we've suggested six series that we think you should watch on streaming this week.
Trying
The beloved comedy series returns on Apple TV this week with its fifth season, with the action once again focusing on Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) as they attempt to deal with a life-altering change.
The previous season ended as Kat (Charlotte Riley), the biological mother of Princess and Tyler, surprisingly arrived on the family's doorstep. The logline for the eight-part season teases plenty of chaos, but how will Nikki and Jason cope?
Trying season 5 premieres on Apple TV on Wednesday 8 July.
What to Read Next
I'm Not Afraid
This Mexican series could be the next big hit on Netflix, with the mystery drama being set - rather topically - during the 1986 FIFA World Cup. The tournament provides a backdrop for a strange tale, with a 10-year-old boy making an alarming discovery.
Set in Veracruz, the central character finds another child trapped, with the discovery taking him on a journey where he learns about the brutal realities of life. The series is said to touch on themes of poverty, while family secrets lurk underneath the surface.
I'm Not Afraid premieres on Netflix on Wednesday 8 July.
Katie Price: Nothing to Hide
A change of pace here, as the iconic British media personality fronts her own documentary series. It's also being produced by Louis Theroux's company Mindhouse, so there's some serious pedigree behind it.
The four-part series will chart Price's rise through the modelling industry, as well as going behind some of the headlines that have followed her around over the years. As per the logline, it won't shy away from the "good, bad or ugly", so expect drama.
Katie Price: Nothing to Hide streams on Sky and NOW from Wednesday 8 July.
Little House on the Prairie
This period drama is based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's classic collection of novels, and is a reboot of the iconic series that ran for nine seasons on NBC between 1974 and 1983. This time round, Netflix is the company behind it.
The highly-anticipated drama follows the Ingalls family as they seek to build a prosperous life on the Western frontier, though the troubling times mean that nature can be both beautiful and dangerous.
Little House on the Prairie premieres on Netflix on Thursday 9 July.
The Westies
The MGM+ series is set in New York City in the 1980s, and follows the titular organised crime gang as they operate out of Hell's Kitchen. At the centre are two childhood friends who took diverging paths in life, as they end up on either side of the law.
The period crime drama features JK Simmons and Titus Welliver in the lead roles of Eamon Sweeney and Glenn Keenan, while British actors such as Tom Brittney and Allen Leech also appear.
The Westies premieres on MGM+ on Sunday 12 July.
Love Is Blind: UK After the Altar
If you don't fancy any scripted drama, then the popular reality series is back for a special three-part spin-off series, which will reunite cast members from each of the first two seasons.
The group will reflect on life both inside and outside of the experiment, including the various twists and turns that followed after their journeys. We can expect some tears, and probably some fiery drama too!
Love Is Blind: UK After the Altar premieres on Netflix on Sunday 12 July.
