Netflix has released a first trailer for its upcoming comedy series The Hawk, created and executive produced by Will Ferrell. The actor stars as a golf champion who returns to the sport after more than two decades, in a bid to reclaim his former glory.
"Lonnie Hawkins, 2004's number one golfer, struggles on the back nine of his career to recapture his magic," reads the TUDUM synopsis. "His body says retire, but his heart says he's not done yet.
"His ex-wife and his son Lance, golf's new golden boy, know he's through. But with one more major to win to complete golf's Grand Slam, Lonnie refuses to believe he's anything other than one stroke away from the greatest comeback in golf history."

The trailer sees an intense-looking Lonnie in a hot pink golf shirt, with a white visor reading "HAWK". It showcases the sports star taking swings with his club, as he prepares to face his greatest challenge yet.
"This summer, a legend returns. An icon. A champion. An American hero," announces the booming voiceover. "His name: Lonnie 'The Hawk' Hawkins."

Staring down the camera lens, Lonnie tells the audience: "That's me. I'm him. That's who they're talking about. If you were wondering."
The series arrives on the streaming service this summer, and will see Lonnie facing off against his old rival Golden Fisk (Luke Wilson), PGA TOUR board member Anton (Chris Parnell) and Radford (David Hornsby), the new partner of his estranged wife.
Also along for the ride are his son Lance (Jimmy Tatro), Stacy (Molly Shannon), Lance's fiancée Natalie (Katelyn Tarver) and new caddie Sam (Fortune Feimster).
Fans on Twitter/X were delighted to get a glimpse of Ferrell in his first television comedy, and shared their excitement for the new series.

The Hawk will stream on Netflix this summer, with an official release date yet to be announced.
