NOLA King, the "game-changing" spin-off to Tulsa King, has cast Samuel L Jackson in the lead role.
Taylor Sheridan's crime drama, which airs on Paramount+, follows gangster Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) after his release from prison, with the character forming a criminal organisation after relocating to Oklahoma.
With the crime drama set to return with its third season later this year, it has been confirmed that Jackson will play Russell Lee Washington Jr in spin-off series NOLA King, with the character making his debut in the upcoming episodes of the main show.
"NOLA King follows Russell Lee Washington Jr who, after befriending Dwight Manfredi during a ten-year stint in federal prison, is sent to Tulsa by New York's Renzetti crime family to take Dwight out once and for all," reads the logline for the spin-off.
"Inspired by what Dwight created in Tulsa and impressed with the possibilities of second chances, Washington returns to New Orleans, the home he abandoned 40 years ago, to rekindle his relationship with his family and take control of the city he left behind."

Upon his return to his home city, Washington is said to "incur the wrath" of his former employers from New York, making himself "vulnerable" to old foes - both "criminal" and "cop" - in the process.

NOLA King has no release date. Tulsa King season 3 premieres on Paramount+ in September.
