As if Taylor Sheridan wasn't busy enough with his Yellowstone franchise, his mob drama Tulsa King starring action legend Sylvester Stallone is set to return to TV screens for season two – and we've now got both a release date and the first trailer.
The second season of the popular crime drama will premiere on Sunday, September 15 on Paramount+ in the US. The news was confirmed in a teaser trailer, which also gave fans a glimpse at what's to come in the new episodes.
We've known for some time that a second season was on the cards. Paramount+ boss Chris McCarthy previously said the studio "instantly" greenlit a season two after Tulsa King's first outing "shattered records". It ultimately made for the streaming service's biggest new sign-up day history yet, he told Parade.

Here's everything we know about Tulsa King season two.
When is the Tulsa King season 2 release date?
As mentioned above, it's now been confirmed that the second season of Tulsa King will air from September 15.
We already knew that the second season was in production, and that filming was underway during the summer.
On top of that, we had the update that Weeds' Craig Zisk would be stepping in as director and executive producer following the exit of showrunner Terence Winter after one season.
The latter departed over "creative differences" with show creator Taylor Sheridan.
Who is in the Tulsa King season 2 cast?
Alongside Stallone's New York mafia capo, we can expect much of the cast to remain the same from the first season, since there were no major departures or even hastily-dug-dirt-hole deaths.
Stallone's right-hand man and former legal weed dealer Bodhi (Martin Starr) should be back alongside unexpected ally Manny (Max Casella). There's also still the loose thread of his romantic interest Stacy (Andrea Savage), who's secretly a former ATF agent.
And let's be grateful that Stallone agreed to come back at all – especially considering how tough he said he found found shooting the first season.
"I can't believe some people have done this for four, five or six seasons," he told Variety. "It's brutal, compared to filmmaking. I'll never say, 'This is a hard shoot' again on a feature. It's a vacation compared to this! It really is!"
Annabella Sciorra and Tatiana Zappardino have been promoted to series regulars as Joanne Manfredi and Tina Manfredi-Grieger, Deadline reported.
Meanwhile, Yellowstone fans can look forward to some crossover in the Sheridan-verse, as Neal McDonough has joined the cast as powerful Tulsa businessman Cal Thresher, Variety reported.
Here's the full Tulsa King season two cast list we can expect for now…
• Sylvester Stallone as Dwight Manfredi
• Andrea Savage as Stacy Beale
• Max Casella as Armand Truisi
• Martin Starr as Bodhi
• Domenick Lombardozzi as Chickie Invernizzi
• Vincent Piazza as Vince Antonacci
• Jay Will as Tyson Mitchell
• Garrett Hedlund as Mitch Keller
• AC Peterson as Pete Invernizzi
• Dana Delany as Margaret Deveraux
• Neal McDonough as Cal Thresher
What will happen in Tulsa King season 2?
Tulsa King spoilers follow.
The first season saw Stallone's character sent from New York to Tulsa after a prison stint, with the task of establishing a new criminal syndicate on behalf of the Invernizzi family on the ground in Oklahoma. However, the first batch of episodes ended with Manfredi landing in handcuffs after Stacey set him up.
Although Manfredi will probably be behind bars in the upcoming season, there's potential for bubbling resentment to spew over after Chickie's disrespectful decision to walk away from the family.
The official synopsis for season two teases: "Dwight and his crew continue to build up and defend their growing empire in Tulsa but, just as they get their bearings, they realise that they’re not the only ones who want to stake their claim.
"With looming threats from the Kansas City mob and a very powerful local businessman, Dwight struggles to keep his family and crew safe while keeping track of all his affairs. Plus, he still has unfinished business back in New York."
Is there a trailer for Tulsa King season 2?
We now have a full trailer for the second season, in which in which Neal McDonough and Frank Grillo make their debuts as businessman Cal Thresher and mobster Bill Bevilaqua.
"Competition's healthy," says Stallone's crime boss. "Depends who you're competing with," Thresher responds. Ominous.
