The Bondsman, the “gory, gnarly and intoxicating” new series starring Kevin Bacon, is now available on Prime Video.

The eight-part action-horror series sees Bacon play Hub Hallaron, a murdered bounty hunter who is brought back from the dead by the Devil, with the figure aiming to make the most out of his second chance.

There is a twist, however, with Hub being required to send escaped demons back to the prison of Hell. Should he succeed, he might just make the best out of his second chance at life, love and country music.

Also starring Jennifer Nettles, Beth Grant and Damon Herriman, Grainger David’s series is now available to stream on Prime Video, with horror aficionados taking delight at Bacon’s battles with the demons of Hell.

The Bondsman was gory, gnarly and intoxicating,” wrote one enthused fan on X. “It's Brimstone meets Ash Vs. Evil Dead and I enjoyed every minute of it. Kevin Bacon totally kicked ass. A delightful blend of gut-wrenching tension, apocalyptic chaos and blood-squirting action - absurdly fun.”

The Daily Beast

“A solid vehicle for the preternaturally charming Bacon, getting its goofy-gory job done with the same sort of efficiency and ramshackle energy that its hero brings to his Faustian gig.”

The Daily Telegraph

“Everything about The Bondsman says that if you don’t like it, you can leave. It is unrepentant schlock horror played for genre fans who know what they like.”

The Hollywood Reporter

“To the uneven extent that Amazon’s The Bondsman works, it’s thanks primarily to Kevin Bacon’s effortlessly winning lead turn as Hub Halloran.”

Variety

“While Bacon is quite comfortable as a charming-yet-scuzzy dirtbag, his charisma isn’t enough to hold the entire enterprise together. The Bondsman starts strong, but before long, Hub’s vintage truck has run out of gas.”

RogerEbert.com

“For a show so seemingly committed to its Blumhouse horror bona fides, The Bondsman has a hard time making its demon fights seem, well, fun.”

Geek Girl Authority

“In the spirit of The Evil Dead and with the sheer over-the-top audacity of Preacher and Peacemaker, The Bondsman takes a Buffy-esque puzzle/quest and cranks the splatter-horror level to 11.... its execution is pretty darned flawless.”

The Bondsman is streaming now on Prime Video.
