Celebrity Traitors has finally seen the Faithfuls catch themselves a Traitor and oust Jonathan Ross from the castle - but he's still manipulating them from afar.

The latest episode of the show saw the TV host bow out of the BBC reality series after Lucy Beaumont became the first Faithful to be eliminated face-to-face by the Traitors.

The tense round table saw Jonathan receive six out of seven possible votes, with fellow Traitors Alan Carr and Cat Burns both nominating him to throw the other Faithfuls off their scent.

Though they voted him out of the show, Jonathan revealed that he planted seeds in the Faithfuls' minds to protect Cat and Alan.

Speaking to host Ed Gamble on Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked about airing his suspicions about Cat and Alan with the Faithfuls, he said: "I knew I was going to go that day, and I knew if I hadn't said their names [to the Faithfuls], this is bad for them.

"And so I said their names, but I didn't use any persuasion. I didn't give any good reason, I just said, 'Well, who are the people... Maybe we should look at the people we haven't been looking at, like Cat and Alan. You know, the quieter voices'.

"Joe [Marler] went, 'Interesting'. And I was pretty sure, I knew almost without doubt Joe was still 100% on me, Celia [Imrie] was still 100% on me, so I knew whatever I said was not going to steer them towards, unless they had second-guessed me and thought, 'Oh, he's saying Traitors' names', so that's very unlikely."

He added: "I wanted to make sure before I went that I'd said their names to a couple of people, and I did, I think that was the only day I said their names. I dropped it in a few times but very lightly."

Jonathan said that he "probably would have" betrayed his fellow Traitors during the round table "if he had to", but he didn't want to.

"To be honest with you, of the three of us, even now, if I was playing again, I'd rather it be me that went first," he continued.

In his exit interview, Jonathan said his "dream scenario" in the show would be Alan and Cat taking the prize.

"I don't think Alan's going to survive, but I think Cat will make it to the end," he added. "I think Cat will win, and she deserves to win. Out of the three of us, she had the best tactical brain."

Jonathan said that he found it "really hard just lying to people" when it came to being a Traitor, and that "around the second day" he wished he had said he wanted to be a Faithful.

On his highlights from the experience, he said: "The highlight of the experience for me was probably Alan Carr, who just said so many funny things.

"Stephen [Fry] was kind, delightful, and of course, he's a marvellous man. Once, while he was staring at a grandfather clock, he just turned to Alan and said, 'Tempus fugit', and Alan went, 'Good for you'. Moments like that were very funny."

Jonathan continued: "Joe Marler made me laugh quite a lot. It was great on the last day when I kind of knew I was going from the morning, at breakfast I knew eyes were on me. I began to relax oddly at that point and thought, 'OK, I am going home today, just enjoy the day'.

"I could have fought back, but you know what, I thought I’m going have a nice day. I've got as far as I could, and I've got further than I thought I would, so I'm quite happy."

Cat and Alan are both still in the game, alongside Faithfuls Kate Garraway, Nick Mohammed, Joe Marler, Celia Imrie, and David Olusoga.

The Celebrity Traitors is next on BBC One on Thursday 30 October at 9pm.
