Celebrity Traitors star Sir Stephen Fry has issued a public apology to fellow player Niko Omilana, following the YouTuber's early exit from the show. Niko first came under suspicion as being a Traitor when Stephen pointed out his penchant for pranks, as evidenced by his vast social media presence.
Though the jokester was honoured that Stephen knew who he was, his vocation later made him a clear suspect at the Round Table, and he became the first Faithful to be banished from the Castle.
His early banishment caused an uproar from viewers, who thought it was unfair for him to be targeted because of his job and drew parallels to doctor Kasim Ahmed's banishment in series 3.
Since then, Stephen also found himself on the chopping block at the Round Table, and was banished during this Thursday's episode. Following his exit, he made a sincere apology to Niko, who he described as "remarkable".

While appearing on Saturday Kitchen, Stephen reflected on his Celebrity Traitors experience, which saw him becoming acquainted with a range of stars.
"It's fun for me to be among people who I may not know," he told host Matt Tebutt. "I mean I knew Jonathan [Ross] and I knew Alan [Carr]. Tom Daley, I know but there were plenty of people I didn't know, especially the younger ones."

Addressing his prior knowledge of Niko, Stephen then expressed regret for letting his preconceptions cloud his judgement.
"Niko, I'm so sorry that I was one of the first to suspect him as a Traitor," he said. "What a wonderful man he is and those who don't know him should check out his YouTube, he is remarkable."
Meanwhile, Stephen's recent exit has marked yet another win for the Traitors - Cat Burns, Jonathan Ross and Alan Carr - who, despite some suspicion, have still managed to survive more than halfway through the game.
