Joe Wilkinson has opened up about his time on Celebrity Traitors after being murdered in a recent episode.

But the comedian revealed that things could have been very different, as he correctly predicted that Jonathan Ross was a Traitor. In scenes cut from the BBC programme, he also guessed Cat Burns was a Traitor.

Speaking of the moment he became certain that it was singer Cat, he told the Metro: "The only reason I chose Cat in the end was because someone said, 'Look at the person you think of least.'

"You don’t really see it in the show, but I was hanging out with Cat quite a lot... Suddenly, I went, 'Cat! Why do I trust Cat? It’s mainly because I’ve just been hanging out with her'."

However, Joe admitted he wouldn't have made an attempt to banish Cat, atleast not for a while.

"I really liked her — she was just so cool and lovely to hang out with. So no, I wouldn’t have gone for her next," he said.

Had Joe had made his suspicions known, he could have changed the atmosphere in the castle and actually banished a Traitor. Instead, this series has the worst faithfuls when it comes to statistics.

During the show, Joe was shown having a good friendship with Joe Marler, who mourned him when he left the show.

However, the rugby player admitted that his time on the show wasn't exactly what he expected, adding he felt uncomfortable going head to head at the round table with some of the country's national treasures, including Stephen Fry and Celia Imrie.

"I felt incredibly uncomfortable doing it. You think in the rugby world, you think rugby is massive, you are in it and you think it is massive," he said on Jamie Laing's Great Company podcast. "You come out of it, go into a normal world and they go, 'Who are you then? What do you do?'"

"And you go, 'Oh, I used to play rugby.' And they go, 'What, like, [rugby] league?' It was really good. To have a bit of perspective on it."

The Traitors series 1-3 are streaming on BBC iPlayer. The Celebrity Traitors airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9pm.
