Love Island star Megan Forte Clarke has shared that she "wants answers" upon her surprising return to the villa.

It was confirmed tonight that Megan and Blu Chegini would return to the series after previously being dumped from the island, with the pair's comeback coinciding with Emma Munro and Boris Vidović's exits.

With Megan and Blu's return being teased in the preview for tomorrow's instalment, the lucky pair expressed their desire to make best use of their second chance at finding love in the sunshine.

"I'm excited to go back in - I think I left quite abruptly and I'm going back in for some clarity," said Megan. "It was an easy decision to make. When you can't speak to people for a couple of weeks and have to watch them on telly every night, you want some answers."

Blu, who was originally dumped on the fourth day of the series, added: "There's a bit of open space now and people know the game a little bit more, so hopefully the couple of girls I've got my eyes on are willing to explore. I told you all from the get go I'm not leaving!"

The move drew a mixed response from fans of the series given that Megan had previously been voted off by the audience, with one viewer asking on X: "WAS THAT MEGAN AND BLU?? PRODUCERS WHAT HAVE YOU DONE #loveisland #loveislanduk".

"This show is playing with my head… why [are] MEGAN and BLU back in that VILLA?!?! Producers? Explain. #loveislanduk #loveisland" asked one confused fan, with another remarking: "Megan and Blu why honestly #loveisland #loveislanduk".

There were some viewers, however, who could recognise the thinking from the series' producers, with one writing: "For the purpose of drama I understand bringing back Irish Megan."

The latest drama comes just a few days after Harrison Solomon elected to withdraw from the series, with the star saying: "I’m happy with my decision and [I] stand by it… When Lauren [Wood] left the villa, my Love Island experience just wasn’t the same.

"I felt like my journey was finished which is why I decided to leave… I’m quite an indecisive person so I wanted to take my time with it rather than leave and regret what I’d done. The fact I stayed a day later and processed everything really helped me."

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
