Love Island has been hit with the highest number of Ofcom complaints in this new season as Movie Night sparked backlash over alleged "editorial bias" and "bullying" of some Islanders. Following the Casa Amor drama, viewers launched hundreds of complaints over the most recent episodes of season 13.
According to broadcasting regulator Ofcom, ITV2's reality TV series received 533 complaints between 2 and 6 July, making it the highest number since the new series began.
The episode aired last Sunday (5 July) attracted the most reports over the "alleged editorial bias towards Jasmine [Müller]" and bullying of Priya Jaswal, with Jasmine being at the centre of the Movie Night segment.

Fans sympathised with Jasmine as they felt Movie Night placed her under more significant scrutiny than her fellow Islanders. Her behaviour was dissected in films 'The Affair', about her connection with Lorenzo Alessi while she's coupled up with Kavan Murphy, and 'The Princess Jasmine Diaries', in which her plan to convince Priya to couple up with Casa Amor boy Jordon Wilson so he could join the main villa was exposed.
Priya also received the support of viewers in the complains, as some felt she was treated unfairly during Movie Night.

During the episode, Priya chose to couple up with Jordon, unaware that he intended to pursue Jasmine in the villa.
Viewers were also taken aback when Julia was heard calling Jasmine a "b***h".

This is not the first occasion in which Love Island has come under fire. Earlier this year, the All Stars version of the show received over 1,000 Ofcom complaints over Scott van-der-Sluis' alleged bullying of Sean Stone.
